Jan. 30, 2011

I have been a very busy lady. First I made my layout for the challenge that Creations with Christina is having. The challenge is to make a layout each month. I am doing layouts for 2010 as for this year I am doing Project Life and will post those layouts just as soon as my album arrives, should be here next week--maybe??? Making a long story short I deided to start at the end of the year and go backwards--gives me more time to get those pictures together. I am doing all of my layouts using Allison Davis at Scrapbook Generation layouts--so easy! You can find her at scrapbookgeneration.blogspot.com-love her designs. Here is my first layout for December:
I forgot to mention that I bought this kit at Simply Scrapbook in Claremore, Ok. All I added was a tag for journaling and of course the pictures.

Then Friday I went over to Scrapbook Bug at Pryor, Ok. and made 5 recipe cards. They turned out so cute! I am going to have to break down and buy the Hoot n Holler from Walmart.

Can't wait to try out the new recipes.

Today I once again went to Pryor, Ok. and went to a Stamping Club by Stampin Up-I had a great time making 2 valentine cards and meeting new people. Jamie the demonstrator showed us a really cool technique with tissue paper. I will try to make a video of the technique and if I'm lucky get it posted. Here are the cards.

Jan. 25, 2011

Today I made a cute card for my little grandson, it features My pink stamper stamp Tweetie Hoo Puns and DCWV The Green Stack paper. I used cricut cartridge Simply Charmed and Cricut Imagine Blossom cartridge. I cut my card at 7" by 91/2" and a 4.5 x 6.5 mat from The Green Stack. I cut the tree on pg.56 at 3.5" and filled in the color from the Blossom cartridge. The bird I cut out at 2" on pg. 36 and filled with color from Blossom. I also used the speech bubble on the Imagine machine cut at 2" out of white cardstock and I stamp it with Vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz.

Jan. 21, 2011

This week I have been working on reorganizing my craft supplies. I bought six jetmax cubes at Michaels and Hobby Lobby with 50 or 40% coupons, plus pegboards and ribbon holder. I have kept my husband very busy this week putting them together and putting items up on the wall. Now that I have them up I think I need three more-my poor husband said oh no! He should be thankful that we had a big snowstorm and the roads are still not clear or we would be on the road! Here is a picture of how we arranged them:

Jan. 14, 2011

We are heading back to Grand Lake tomorrow and going through Wichita and stopping at my favorite scrapbooking stores. I hope I can purchase some more storage cubes and I am looking for the Tim Holtz tag die and some kind of storage folder for scrap paper. I cleaned up files on my computer and organize files for my pictures this year. I am going to be doing the Project Life for this year and working on a album for 2010 with Christina's challenge.
I also checked back in to Weight Watchers and managed to lose a little weight over the holidays. Any lost is better than gaining in my books. I have been doing really well with exercising this week. The challenge is to keep it up!

Here is the card for the My pink stamper challenge;

I used the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge and cut the little pirate out at 3.5 inches and the Ahoy Matey out at 1.5 inches. I used the colors on my Imagine machine for all but the stripe and base which were from my scrap pile(see I am trying to use them up). The base was cut at 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches and folded. The second layer was cut at 5.25 inches by 4 inches.

Jan. 10, 2011

We made the journey back to SW Kansas before the big winter storm hit. While traveling I hit the YouTube and watched all these ladies make a Michaels haul. Big surprise we were going right through Wichita and a Michael store real easy to get to since we were hauling a van behind the truck. Here is a picture of my haul from Michaels plus a stop-over at Dodge City's Hobby Lobby store. I have decided that all Michaels are not treated equal. I did not have a chance to buy all that wonderful embellisments I saw on the other Michael Haul videos. My husband was ever so thankful. Then after we got home and looked at videos for storage I wished that I had bought several more of the cubes to replace a table I have in my scrapbooking room. Oh well there will always be the trip back. Plus I found another Michael store in Wichita, my poor husband!

Jan. 5, 2011

Yahoo I finished a card today! My inspiration was a video from Creations with Christina. I used the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge, die-namics die (which I just tried for the first time), ek label punch, Best Friends Imagine cartridge, and distress ink (tea dye). The celebrate stamp was from a collection that I bought at Michaels (I wish these stamps and punches had their names on them another goal for 2011 is to mark everything).
Here are a few pictures of my project: The paper for the project I printed from the Best Friends cartridge on the Imagine machine-love it!

The card measurements are: Card cut from 81/2 by 11 and cut in half. Second layer is 4 by 51/4. Third layer is 33/4 by 5. The top piece I used the die on and cut it at 1 1/2 by 3 3/4. Have fun creating!

Jan. 4, 2011

Wow a new year already. My New Year wish to everyone is to have a fantastic 2011. I love the 31 day video challenge that Marion Smith is doing but probably a little challenging for me to attempt right now. I have been playing around with my Imagine machine this week. Printing off 12 x 12 paper from the Best Friends cartridge and playing around with elements on the new Mother's Day Bouquet and one of my favorites Simply Charmed. I am going to try to make a new card each week of Jan. with these two cartridges and post it here.
Oh yes I did make my goals for New Year:
1. Lose 100 pounds at my last check in at Weight Watchers I had lost a little over 80 pounds. Now to get to 100.
2. Exercise 3 x a week with my new hula hoops that I purchased from Amazing Hoops and I love love doing it. Takes me back when I was a little girl.
3. Take time to read more and watch a couple of movies a month or go to the movies-like date nights.
4. Finish mini albums that I have started-that would be 4 at the present.
5. Post to my blog more often.
6. Post a video.
7. Write in my journal.
8. Organize scrapbooking supplies!
9. Take a walk three 3x a week.
10. Have a girl day with my Mom.
